Monitoring tool for testing other services

I'm a software development masters student creating a monitoring app in PHP that's main features include the ability to monitor apps/urls and display useful metrics to a dashboard and alert users if there are failures. I want to include performance and correctness of results testing as features of this monitoring tool so that a user will be able to run load tests, unit tests etc from the actual site and then display them onto the dashboard.

I know there are open source tools like Locust io, JMeter for performance testing and PHPUnit for unit testing, however these can only be run on command line or locally in project directory and are performed separately in a more backend manner. Is there a way I could write my code so that I'd have buttons on this app that when pressed by a user will run these tests live and then store the results/convert them to graphs, save them onto my database and then allow me to display them to users on the dashboard?
